View on the Community
Mission District I am a part of this community. It is compiled with different ethnic groups Blacks, Whites, Latins being the majority. we celebrate all different holidays, such as carnival. Were we celebrate the Caribbean people by dedicating two days to them. We dance eat great food from the particular islands and we also keep the party going. On a regular day in the mission the streets are filled with people.Women walking up the streets selling flowers, men outside making bacon wrapped hotdogs and selling fresh fruit and corn, if your thirsty there is always a Gatorade jug full of agua fresca. The smells are amazing its a smell that warms you up from inside out that's when you know you hit the street. Beautiful Victorian houses with plenty of colors and decoration that describes the individual person. The growing community we are we have an abundance of artist. Muralist, bead work and poets but we are most known for is would have to be the low rider bikes and cars anybody who is truly from the mission has one of the two. The dent that i have chosen to make in my community is being socially aware and proactive in my neighborhood.

What are some of the things you learned about yourself as a student or a professional in Module I? Did you surprise yourself in any way? Were you proud of yourself? Were you at all disappointed in yourself? Why?
Somethings i learned about myself in module one was i thought of myself as a slacker and nonprofessional. I proved myself wrong i have a lot of professional attributes going for myself i would come to class fifteen minutes early just so i could write my homework and keep up with my assignments. I really shocked myself because i began to realize i held myself at a pretty low standard and I really have went above and beyond what i though of myself.

Product Of My Enviroment
I am a product of my neighborhood because where I grew up it was filled with murals representing the struggles of our people some represented w women’s rights others had Cesar Chavez and the crusade he lead also were murals showing respect for the young people we have lost in our community due to gang violence A result of the gang violence that went on in my community I lost my boyfriend of five years he finally got his life together and started doing right and he was gunned down in front of his home. I got caught up in the not so positive parts of my community the underground part that only the news portrayed as negative and bringing the community's property level So in a since my community molded me to be the person that I am today because of the o occurrences that took place in my community that directly affected me. At the same time I used the negative events in my life to help me push forward and not become the stereotype everyone expected me to be. Growing up in a predominately Latin neighborhood I gained a since of respect for the culture and history around me and what it meant to me as one of the people of the neighborhood and what it meant to the people in the neighborhood. despite growing up in my neighborhood it also didn't mold me to be who I am because at the end of the day I make my own decisions for my life and were its going may it be negative direction or positive direction I'm taking control of my destiny

I feel like that the people who need to be held responsible for alleviating the issue of attacking low wage earners Is a little bit of everybody’s fault. You can’t sit around and cry about what you know or don’t know I feel like you need to get off your bottom and find out the information that’s out there or use the resources that are offered to you in your community. The people who are running the banks they need to come up with a contract that speaks in common English versus legal jargon and to be able to sit down with their clients and go over contracts step by step with them. So they don’t feel like there being duped into anything in the long run. But I also feel like the bank owners and operators should also be held to a code of ethics themselves and should do on two others what they want done to them. The bankers are making the poor poorer and the rich richer the only people who are benefiting from other peoples lack of information or there misfortune I would have to say it would be the banks and payday advance loans the big corporations are keeping the money with the rich and constantly taking away from the poor.
